Seaweed restoration with seeded lines
Native seeded lines for kelp and macroalgae restoration across Europe.
Seaweed Lines supplies native seeded lines for kelp and macroalgae restoration projects across Europe, the Nordic region and the Baltic. Restoration uses the same seeded lines as farming, but with native, locally sourced strains to rebuild seaweed habitat rather than harvest it.
Why restoration
Kelp forests and other macroalgae beds are in decline in many areas. Re-establishing them supports biodiversity, water quality and carbon uptake. With seeded lines, projects can reintroduce locally adapted seaweed at scale.
How we help
- Native broodstock that we collect together with you from the project’s own region.
- Seeded lines and seeded twine matched to the site and species.
- Support for research groups and multi-partner restoration consortia.
Species
